This painting is one of my first so it is special to me. I remember working on it and being amazed at how the matador came to life and I felt the intensity of the bull. I have never been to a bull fight as I do not like the killing of animals, but for this painting, the bull is alive and showing its strength.
My interest in the Visual Arts began in early childhood, fueled by the awards and encouragement I received from teachers and others close to me. It was my kindergarten teacher who first noticed the attention to detail that I put into my drawings. This encouragement sparked my desire for educational pursuits of drawing and painting at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, and from The Ohio State University at Columbus where I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art Eduction. I taught art in the Chicago Public School system where I inspired talented young students to pursue their ambitions.
